2018 Rescue Squadron of the Year Goes To...

USAF Rescue Commanders, Team & Supporters,

Thank you to all for their 2018 That Others May Live Foundation (TOMLF) Rescue Squadron of the Year (RSOY) Award nominations.  TOMLF received nomination packages from across the Total Force to include ACC, ANG and AETC units representing HC-130, HH-60, GA and OSS squadrons.

It is a pleasure to announce the 79th RQS, Davis-Monthan AFB as the 2018 TOMLF RSOY winner.

The 79st RQS stood out for their outstanding mission efforts balanced with their exceptional efforts supporting base and community relations.  My personal congratulations to Lt Col Williams and the entire 79th RQS team – great job!

TOMLF has sponsored this award since 2012 using a variety of criteria to determine outstanding overall squadron accomplishments to include mission results, unit & individual accomplishments, and community relations impact.  Our evaluation team was extremely impressed with how much the Total Rescue Force has accomplished in the past year.  It is always amazing to read of all the great accomplishments of our USAF Rescue Warriors.  We extend our heartfelt thanks for the great efforts and sacrifice of our rescue warriors and families.

TOMLF will present the award at the Air Rescue Ball on 20 October at the Ramada Plaza, Long Island, NY.  Please join us for a great evening of Rescue Community camaraderie and celebration at the Air Rescue Ball - Registration site is www.thatothersmaylive.org/events

On behalf of our Vice Chairman, Steve ‘Elroy’ Colby and the entire Board of Directors, my thanks to all the squadrons who submitted nominations.  We are proud to be associated with such a great group.
